As you Kuchingians know, two dominating supermarket or should I call, hypermarket has arrived in Kuching, Boulevard and The Spring. Both have Sushi King, both have Manhattan Fish Market, both have Kenny Rogers... what a business.
For me as a sushi lover, I couldnt resist going for Sushi King times and times over and over again. I just love it! I've been there so many times that I think I've spent a fortune on them. No wonder my wallet loss weight while I gained a bunch of them.
Anyway, its nice and the pricing, although you can get yourself a Salmon fillet at the market for RM16++ per piece (quite a big one) I think its can be considered cheap (reasonable) compared to the others Japanese restaurant out there which charge an ass-whooping price for a ridiculous piece of sushi. With this Sushi King dominating the japanese food market here in Kuching, I do think that restaurants such as Watashiwa (if they haven't changed their name again), Ten Ichi (mind the spelling, I have short memory syndrom), Momoyama will be deeply affected as in losing daily customer although I still think people like businessman or VIP who want to have a more privacy and more exotic dishes would still come to these places.
Speaking about eating sushi, I just went to Sushi King today! Yay! I'm gonna go broke! Yay!
